"Shihu" is a title for and role of a skillful person or a master.
Here we have "Domburi Shifu", one of Pankichi-Ken's regular customer.
We don't know his real name.
We don't know who started calling him "Domburi Shifu".
But, he must be a master of something.
Master of what?
We don't know. He is a man of few words...
But one thing fore sure is, he loves Japanese bowl "Domburi" more than anything, and also, the soup the "Domburi" contains.
That's why he is called "Domburi Shifu"
ドンブリ老師。ぱん吉軒の常連客の一人。
誰が呼んだかドンブリ老師。誰も彼の本当の名を知らない。
老師というからには、何かの達人なのかしら。
でも、何の？
それも誰にも分らない。彼は多くを語らないのだ。
でも一つ確かなのは、彼はこよなくドンブリを愛し、
そして、その中のスープを愛する。
だからドンブリ老師なのね。
Domburi Shifu

an elderly gentleman called "Donburi Shifu"
He, who loves Japanese bowl "Domburi" more than anything,
He always order the same dish when he eats at Pankichi-ken.
also, loves the soup inside.
His favourite dish is a Domburi (Japanese bowl) of soup,
And his favourite Gyoza Dumplings are..
Boiled Dumplings!
